About Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Botanical Garden

The Pamplemousses Botanical Garden, officially the Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam (SSR) Botanic Garden, is Mauritius's oldest botanical garden (18th-century origins) and one of the oldest in the Southern Hemisphere. Wide paths, old trees, and shaded corners make it easy to walk at your own pace. The garden is known for its giant water lilies, tall palms, and plants that arrived here centuries ago.

Many visitors enjoy it because it feels calm, organised, and easy to explore, even on warm days. People often add this stop while planning relaxed island days through Mauritius tour packages, especially when they want something peaceful between beaches and resorts. The garden suits solo travellers, couples, and families who want a quiet break with nature.

About Tickets or Entry Fees
