About Le Morne Brabant

Le Morne Brabant is a basaltic monolith on the southwestern tip of Mauritius. This mountain rises sharply from the sea in southwest Mauritius, surrounded by clear lagoons and wide beaches. It's a famous UNESCO World Heritage site symbolising freedom, sacrifice, and suffering for escaped slaves who found refuge there. When you stand near the base, you feel the scale of the mountain immediately. The wind is steady, the air feels cleaner, and the ocean changes colour every few minutes.

Many travellers include it while browsing Mauritius tour packages because it offers more than scenery; it offers history, silence, and space to breathe. Hikers enjoy the challenge, photographers wait patiently for shifting light, and slow travellers come here just to sit and watch the waves. The area never feels rushed. If you are used to crowded attractions, this place feels grounding. You walk more, speak less, and notice small details like birds, clouds, and the sound of the sea hitting the rocks.

About Tickets or Entry Fees

There is no official entry fee to visit Le Morne Brabant as it is a public site. Guided hikes to the summit are strongly recommended and usually cost around AED 150 to AED 220 per person, depending on group size and guide experience.
