About Khor Rori

Sumhuram Ruins and Khor Rori are different names for the same archaeological site overlooking a beautiful lagoon in southern Oman. This historical city once served as a major hub for the global frankincense trade thousands of years ago. You can walk through the limestone walls and see the remains of old storehouses and residential quarters. It provides a fascinating look into how sailors lived and traded along the Arabian coast during ancient times.

Oman Tour packages usually include Sumhuram Ruins because of their strong historical value. The site connects visitors to the frankincense trade that linked Oman with Rome, India, and Africa. Built with smart planning, the ruins show early urban life in southern Arabia. From Dubai, this destination offers culture, history, and learning within a short flight distance.

About Tickets / Entry Fees

Entry tickets for Sumhuram Ruins cost around AED 20- 30 per adult. Children may enter free or at a reduced rate. Prices can change slightly, so checking with local authorities or tour operators before visiting is advised.
